I’m glad to see I’m not the only one looking into song structure and chords.
Some very extensive research can be found over at hooktheory. It’s a very informative read, although they do reach different conclusions than I did earlier. Where I analysed the most popular individual notes and used them to build the perfect chord, they analyse the most popular different chords and use them to build the perfect song structure.
Another thing that set us apart is the goal of the research. They want to understand what makes a song tick. I want to do something with that knowledge. Although I am starting to get the feeling that I am not the only one who does this. Just read through this blog and then listen to Gangdam Style by Psy.
